Citizen Complaints
It is the policy of the UCSD Police Department to promptly and thoroughly investigate all citizen complaints. This is done in order to:

  • Preserve the morale and integrity of the department and its personnel
  • Foster public trust and confidence in the department and its personnel
  • Take corrective or remedial action where it is appropriate to do so
  • All reports are received in a courteous and professional manner. Complaints will be accepted in person, over the telephone or in writing. Anonymous complaints, or complaints from citizens who wish their names to be held in confidence, will also be accepted. Complaints can be filed at any time, day or night.
