Emergency 911 calls made from campus telephones are automatically routed to the UCSD Police Department Communications Center, where Public Safety Dispatchers then dispatch the needed police, fire or emergency medical assistance.

To aid in the immediate reporting of campus emergencies, brightly colored yellow emergency call boxes have been strategically located thourghout the campus. Additionally, most building elevators located on campus are equipped with an emergency telephone that is directly linked to the Police Department.

The UCSD Police Department Communications Center operates 24-hours a day, 365-days a year to assist the campus community.
